What is the best time to visit La Merced?

In La Merced we offer you fishing opportunities for much of the year, and depending on the season the fishing characteristics are different.

Trout Fishing Season:

Spring (September to November): This period is ideal for trout fishing, as this is when rainbow and brown trout are most active. Aquatic insects are also in abundance, making it an excellent time for fly fishing.

Summer Season (December to February): During the summer, fishing in Patagonia can be good, but trout activity can be lower compared to spring. However, you can enjoy warmer days and a variety of outdoor activities.

Fall (March to May): Fall is another good season for fishing, especially in March and April. Trout are often active before spawning season, and weather conditions are pleasant.

Winter (June to August): Winter can be more challenging for fishing, as trout tend to be less active in colder waters, but it is ideal to enjoy fishing amid the scenic beauty of Patagonia covered in snow.

How to get to La Merced?

You can access Google Maps at the bottom of this website, where you can consult the access routes. In addition, we offer a welcome and farewell transportation service only to Chapelco Aviador Carlos Campos airport, located 2 km from the complex. Consult hiring.

What activities can you do in La Merced?

In our lodge you can carry out various activities such as horseback riding, guided boat fishing, guided wading fishing, initiation into fly fishing and trekking. More information in Natural Activities.

We recommend a minimum stay of 7 days, to be able to enjoy all the activities and get to know the natural environment in which the lodge is located.

What clothing should I wear?
